HONG KONG: Celestial Tiger Entertainment has signed exclusive output agreements with the Hong Kong movie studios Mega-Vision Project Workshop and Universe Entertainment.

The pacts give Celestial Tiger the exclusive first-run pay-TV rights as well as pay-per-view and VOD rights for all upcoming movies from both studios. The content will air on the Chinese movie channel Celestial Movies (CM) in Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia. Celestial Tiger already has five other output deals for Chinese movies theatrically released in Hong Kong to air first and exclusively on CM.

“We are very pleased to partner with Mega-Vision Project Workshop and Universe Entertainment exclusively on a broader level. Celestial Movies brings our viewers the biggest Chinese blockbusters and the biggest stars, first and exclusively, and the output from MVP and Universe ensures that we deliver on this promise,” said Ofanny Choi, the executive VP of TV networks at Celestial Tiger Entertainment.

“We have had a long-standing relationship with Celestial Movies and I am glad to see it develop into a stronger partnership with this output deal. I am happy our star-driven lineup of movies will premiere exclusively on one of the most widely distributed 24-hour Chinese movie channel in the world,” added Angela Wong, the general manager of Mega-Vision Project Workshop.
