Zodiak Scores Italian Deal for Yellow Bird’s Millennium Films

LONDON/STOCKHOLM, October 9: BIM Distribuzione has struck a
deal with Zodiak International for the cinematic, TV and DVD rights to
distribute Yellow Bird’s Millennium TV
movies and feature film in Italy and Italian-speaking territories.

Yellow Bird is producing six TV movies based on the entire Millennium
trilogy by Stieg Larsson, along with a
feature film based on the first book, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Yellow Bird is also shooting two TV movies based on
the second book, The Girl Who Played With Fire.

“It is incredibly rewarding to produce something as popular
as Millennium,” said Mikael Wallén, the
CEO of Yellow Bird. “The interest is huge, both in Sweden and internationally,
and I am sure this deal with BIM will be the first of many global sales.”

“The deal with BIM is an important step for Zodiak
International and puts us well on the way to establishing ourselves as an
international distributor of drama,” added Jörg
Roth, the managing director of Zodiak International. “We are now building a
drama portfolio with huge sales potential with shows like Millennium and other titles like Yellow Bird’s Wallander films for the BBC.”

Zodiak is in negotiations with several other countries for
the Millennium films.
