ZDFE Takes On New Herzog Doc

MAINZ/VIENNA: ZDF Enterprises has picked up the TV and theatrical rights for Werner Herzog’s Gazing into the Abyss: A Tale of Death, a Tale of Life for global distribution, outside of the U.S. and U.K.

The documentary is a co-production of Skellig Rock, Creative Differences, Spring Films and Werner Herzog Film. In it, the filmmaker spotlights inmates on Death Row, talking to the prisoners about life and death. Herzog engages in a dialogue with these individuals to tell their stories and about their crimes.

ZDF Enterprises will represent the title for TV and theatrical distribution worldwide, excluding the U.S. and U.K.
