ZDF Hails Successful MIPCOM

MAINZ, October 19: ZDF Enterprises’ brisk business at MIPCOM
last week surpassed the expectations of the company’s president and CEO,
Alexander Coridass, the German distribution entity announced today.

"We had set ourselves very high goals, not least
because of the huge international success of our flagship program at Cannes,
the series for children and teenagers H2O- Just Add Water, yet our targets were in fact exceeded,” Coridass
said. The live-action show has been picked up in the U.K. by Nickelodeon, in
France by France 2 and in Italy by Mediaset. Further sales agreements have been
concluded with Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Middle East and Eastern
Europe, while negotiations are almost complete with Scandinavian, Spanish,
Latin American, Canadian and pan-Asian broadcasters. Another kids’ title, Shaolin
Wuzang
, a co-production with France 3, has
been sold to Spain, Israel, Germany and a pan-Eastern European partner.
Agreements with partners in the U.K. and Scandinavia are pending.

ZDF’s fiction slate also did well, with deals on the
Rosamunde Pilcher and Inga Lindström series in France, Eastern Europe and
Switzerland.
