LONDON: Two new World War II programs, The Long March to Freedom and Into the Wind, have been added to the Yesterday’s Spirit of 1940s lineup.

The Long March to Freedom is a three-part series co-produced with ASA UK. It tells the story of the Allied prisoners of war who were forced to march hundreds of miles as the last days of the war took hold. The one-off hour-long doc Into the Wind was acquired from Electric Egg. It tells the tale of two World War II aircrew veterans who served in Bomber Command.

Emma Sparks, UKTV’s acquisitions executive for factual, said: "The Long March to Freedom is a fantastic addition to the Spirit of the 1940s strand, it is an incredibly moving series which, along with Into The Wind, re-affirms Yesterday’s passion to tell the personal story."
