WWE, The CW Shutter Partnership

STAMFORD, February 8: After
a decade on The CW and its precursor, UPN, World Wrestling Entertainment’s
(WWE) franchise WWE SmackDown is
leaving the network, as the two companies have concluded their partnership.

The program will continue
to air on The CW until the conclusion of the 2007-2008 broadcast season, with
WWE currently in negotiations with other networks.

WWE said in a statement: “We
are grateful to Les Moonves, Dawn Ostroff and their entire organization for
bringing WWE SmackDown to
millions of viewers for so many years.”
