Thunderbird Films, Daro Film Distribution Boost Offerings

VANCOUVER, September 26: Thunderbird
Films and Daro Film Distribution have picked up the worldwide distribution
rights for the 2×90-minute dramatic mini-series Dragon Boys and the 70×30-minute teen drama Edgemont, for international launch at MIPCOM.

Both Dragon Boys and Edgemont were produced by Vancouver-based Omni Film Productions. Dragon
Boys
, recently nominated for nine Gemini
awards, aired earlier this year on the CBC to strong ratings. Set in the world
of Asian gangs and organized crime on the West Coast of Canada, the mini-series
follows a Chinese-Canadian police detective and an immigrant family as they
confront a deadly threat from Asian organized crime. Starring Kristen Kreuk, Edgemont
explores the world of high school life.

“We love working with Daro
Films,” commented Michael Shepard, the president of Thunderbird Films. “This is
the seventh project that we have done with Daro in the past 18 months and we
are deeply impressed with their expertise and professionalism. Daro really
knows how to sell.”
