Project Runway Returns with Special All-Star Challenge

LOS ANGELES: Eight Project Runway designers from past seasons return to compete in a two-hour Lifetime special, Project Runway: All-Star Challenge, airing just ahead of the premiere of the sixth installment of the fashion competition.

On August 20 at 8 p.m., Daniel Vosovic (season two), Santino Rice (season two), Jeffrey Sebelia (season three), Uli Herzner (season three), Mychael Knight (season three), Chris March (season four), Sweet P (season four) and Korto Momolu (season five) return to face off against one another in a two-hour special. At 10 p.m., Project Runway will make its debut outing on Lifetime, after airing on Bravo for the past five seasons. Hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum, the hit series provides aspiring designers with an opportunity to launch their careers in fashion, under the watchful eye of mentor and Liz Claiborne chief creative officer Tim Gunn.

Lifetime is also launching an all-new companion series, Models of the Runway, at 11 p.m. The show will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the reality competition from the models’ perspective. Each week on Project Runway the models themselves face elimination as they compete for a cash prize and photo spread in Marie Claire magazine. Models of the Runway will chronicle their drama, anxiety, joys, tears and frustrations.

Produced by The Weinstein Company, Miramax Films, Bunim-Murray Productions and Full Picture Productions, Project Runway and Models of the Runway are executive produced by Bob and Harvey Weinstein, the co-chairmen of The Weinstein Company, and Jon Murray and Sara Rea of Bunim-Murray Productions. Klum, Jane Cha and Desiree Gruber of Full Picture Productions also executive produce both series. Barbara Schneeweiss oversees the production on behalf of The Weinstein Company.
