Windfall Films Appoints Head of Development

LONDON: The U.K. indie Windfall Films has named Nicky Huggett as head of development, tasked with working to open new doors with British and international broadcasters.

Huggett previously served in this same capacity at Australian indie Essential Media & Entertainment. She was also at the BBC developing new ideas for BBC Three. Her credits include Michael Smith’s Drivetime, a doc series for BBC Four; and The Beginner’s Guide to Evangelicalism, an authored documentary for Channel 4.

David Dugan, the chairman of Windfall Films, said, “Nicky’s enthusiasm and relish for developing original ideas means she will fit the Windfall ethos perfectly. Her experience with different channels and commissioning editors means that she will be ideally placed to expand Windfall’s output into popular formats and features, as well as build on our reputation as producers of quality, factual programming. Nicky is a great addition to our team.”

Huggett added, “I’ve always admired Windfall’s innovative approach to programming and hope to build on my experience to develop new and creative formats and features for Windfall’s production slate.”
