Wibbly Pig Lands New Slots

LONDON: BBC Worldwide has completed a new round of deals for the animated series Wibbly Pig, which is headed to ABC in Australia to air later this year.

TVB in Hong Kong, EBS in Korea and RTE in Ireland have also licensed the show. The 52×10-minute series will also be seen throughout Africa and Latin America on CBeebies. Wibbly Pig is a Wish Films/9 Story Entertainment co-production for the BBC.

Commenting on the Australian acquisition, BBC Worldwide’s Australian sales director, Julie Dowding, said, “ABC TV is a fantastic platform for Wibbly Pig. It is a wonderfully engaging new property and I know that it will resonate with children in Australia and around the world.”

“This is a very special show,” added Tim Brooke-Hunt, the executive head of children’s entertainment at ABC TV. “I am pleased to be able to bring the creativity and originality of Wibbly Pig to young Australian audiences.”
