Vivendi Holds On to NBCU Share

PARIS, December 3: Vivendi
has announced that it will not sell its 20-percent stake in NBC Universal this
year, an
investment that brings in some $400 million in annual dividend payments for the
entertainment group.

Each
year, until 2016, from mid November to early December, Vivendi has the option
to sell its share to U.S. conglomerate General Electric, which is NBCU's
majority owner, or as part of a general public offering.

NBC
Universal is said to have brought in $1.8 billion in dividend payments for
Vivendi since 2004 when the groups combined.
