Virgin America, Sundance in Inflight Entertainment Deal

BURLINGAME, August 29: The San Francisco-based start-up
airline Virgin America has partnered with Sundance Channel to bolster its
inflight entertainment system, Red, with a custom-made channel.

Sundance Channel for Virgin America will be exclusively
programmed for the airline, allowing passengers to access an array of
independent content from their 9-inch seatback screens. It will feature a
collection of award-winning independent films and documentaries, as well as
original programming from several of Sundance Channel’s hit series.

In addition, Sundance Channel for Virgin America will
feature a sneak preview of the first two episodes of the original series Nimrod
Nation
, from Oscar-nominated director Brett
Morgen. Nimrod Nation will be
available on Virgin America beginning November 1, three weeks prior to its
November 26 premiere on Sundance Channel.

Virgin America features 18
satellite TV channels on demand, 25 pay-per-view movies, videogames and over
3,000 music files.
