Video Interview: YFE’s Stefan Piëch

NEW YORK: Stefan Piëch, the CEO of Germany’s Your Family Entertainment (YFE), talks about the company’s approach to educating through entertainment with its programming.

YFE has created a hallmark around producing and distributing non-violent, family-oriented programming, with content parents can trust is safe for their young ones to watch. Piëch says that another flagship of the company’s catalogue is based on the dedication to presenting kids with high-quality educational programming that never fails to be entertaining. Piëch cites YFE’s recently launched children’s hit Oscar the Balloonist, which currently airs on Germany’s ZDF, as embodying this approach to children’s content.

YFE has put these same values at the core of its dedicated pay-TV channel, yourfamily, which it launched in 2007. The channel currently has 19 partners, with Vodafone in Germany being a recent addition, and Piëch says there are more to come as the company continues to roll the service out around the world.
