Video Interview: Sally Miles

NEW YORK: Sally Miles, the CEO and founder of Passion Distribution, talks about the keys to success for thriving as an independent in today’s market, as well as the importance of establishing a network of relationships to attract top creative talent.

It was early on in 2010 when Passion Distribution scored an outsourcing agreement with Scripps Networks Interactive to license programs from the Food Network, HGTV and DIY Network globally. The London-based company launched its efforts with 13 new titles at last year’s MIPTV, where it found success on a number of programs from the catalogue, including HGTV’s Design Star and Food Network’s Ace of Cakes.

A relatively young company, launched some two years ago, Passion quickly built a reputation as a supplier of quality factual programming, covering genres such as factual entertainment, reality, documentaries and lifestyle. Breakout hits include RuPaul’s Drag Race and RuPaul’s Drag U, as well as the Tori & Dean franchise, including Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood and Tori & Dean: sTORIbook Weddings. Formats also play an integral part of the company’s strong sales performance.
