Video Interview: ITV-Inter Medya’s Can Okan

NEW YORK: In this video interview, Can Okan, the president and CEO of ITV-Inter Medya, talks to World Screen about where he sees future growth opportunities, including entering new territories and diversifying the company’s catalogue.

 


The global success of Turkish drama has helped to fuel the growth of ITV-Inter Medya in recent years. Okan says that the “Made in Turkey” stamp has become an international symbol of quality, and this has allowed ITV-Inter Medya to increase its business in diverse markets, from Latin America to Asia.

“We have reached 15 territories in Latin America with eight strong series, and have entered the U.S. Hispanic market as well,” Okan says of recent gains. “Our expansion in the region continues and we hope to close deals in Argentina, Mexico, Colombia and Brazil soon. The next markets we are working to enter are Poland and the Russian Federation and some other CIS territories, despite their strict regulations [regarding] foreign content.”
