Viasat Takes NBCU Titles for TV1000

STOCKHOLM: Viasat Broadcasting’s premium channels bouquet TV1000 will have access to the exclusive pay-TV rights in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland to current and upcoming feature films from NBC Universal International Television Distribution.

Highlights of the multi-year licensing deal include It’s Complicated, Robin Hood, The Wolfman, Green Zone, Get Him to the Greek, Despicable Me, The Adjustment Bureau and Charlie St. Cloud. They will air on the TV1000 bouquet, which includes TV1000, TV1000 Drama, TV1000 Action, TV1000 Nordic, TV1000 Classic, TV1000 Family and TV1000 HD. The movies will also be available on the TV1000 SVOD service.

Hans Skarplöth, CEO Viasat Sweden, commented, “The pay-TV agreement with NBC Universal is new for TV1000 and it further strengthens TV1000’s position as the leading premium movie channel brand in the Nordic region.”

In related news, Viasat has secured a licensing agreement with AB Svensk Filmindustri, SF Film, for Nordic feature films to air on the TV1000 family of channels, particularly TV1000 Nordic. The deal covers 12 movies per year, mainly Swedish productions, but occasionally Norwegian and Danish productions.
