VH1 Stocks Grid with New & Returning Series

LOS ANGELES: Among the five series scoring renewals from VH1 are I Want To Work For Diddy and Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, alongside new projects featuring Dr. Drew Pinsky and Tiffany "New York" Pollard.

In the second season of I Want to Work for Diddy, the rap mogul will play an even bigger role as he searches for an assistant with the mental and physical stamina it takes to work for one of the world’s most high-profile CEOs. The second season will tape in the summer for a fall premiere. Also back for another round is Brooke Knows Best, which follows Brooke Hogan and her roommates on their new adventures in Miami. The new season kicks off this spring. Gotti’s Way 2, which follows lives of record producer Irv Gotti, his estranged wife Deb and their three children, returns for a second season on May 4, while Tool Academy is returning for a sophomore season on August 2. The series watches as insensitive and clownish boyfriends are given a surprise wake-up call followed by intensive relationship therapy. Dr. Drew Pinsky and VH1 are also bringing back the reality series Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew for a third installment. The series will follow a new group of celebrity patients who have volunteered to undergo a 21-day detoxification and treatment at a rehabilitation center in the Los Angeles area. The series has not yet been cast but is slated to start filming sometime in late spring for a fall debut.

Dr. Drew has also been tapped for a new project with VH1, where he will tackle a new form addiction in Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew. In this 8×1-hour series, Dr. Drew will treat a group of people in Los Angeles who are struggling with sexual addictions while shedding some light on this oft-dismissed compulsion and the destructive costs that come with it. The series is set to premiere in the fall. Another new project featuring a well-known VH1 personality is New York Goes To Work, featuring Tiffany "New York" Pollard, star of the hit I Love New York and a former contestant on Flavor of Love. Each week, America will choose from a list of three possible job opportunities and vote via their mobile phones by texting which job they would like to see Tiffany try the following week. The half-hour series is set to launch on May 4.

"VH1 is riding high on its most successful wave of original hit programming yet. We launched more new hit series than any other cable network in the first quarter of 2009," said Jeff Olde, the executive VP of original programming and production for VH1. "Much of our momentum can be credited to many of the franchises and talent that we’re renewing today. These upcoming projects will continue to set the mark for reality television while connecting with some of the most loyal viewers in all of television."
