Venevision’s You and Me a Success in Malaysia

MIAMI: Venevision International’s Somos tu y yo (You and Me) format has been a hit in Malaysia on Astro Ria.

The local version, Kau Dan Aku, debuted late last year. The first episode was the seventh highest show on the entire Astro Ria platform for the week, scoring a 32.1 percent market share. This was the highest numbers Astro Ria has ever achieved for the debut of a drama series. The tween musical series continues to perform strong for Astro Ria, averaging a 20 percent market share during its Saturday night 10 p.m. slot, “which is outstanding when taking into consideration its young target audience and the late hour it is broadcasted, not to mention that it occasionally competes against some of the country’s major sporting events,” said Cesar Diaz, the VP of sales for Venevision International. “We expect the success of Kau Dan Aku to generate a great deal of business opportunities, not only of our vast catalogue, but also for the potential of co-productions and format collaborations, which are priorities for our company.”
