V-me Presents Eight-Part Special on South Africa

NEW YORK: V-me is putting the spotlight on the World Cup host nation of South Africa with an eight-hour marathon on July 18, featuring footage captured by journalists Jorge Gestoso and Marian de la Fuente.

In Sudafrica 2010: Mas alla de la cancha, each hour-long part features a different South African region. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 18, V-me will present viewers with a reflection of South Africa’s history, people and cities. Viewers will journey from Cape Town’s melting pot and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange to the Cradle of Humanity at the Sterkfontein Caves home to 3 million year old human fossils.

The U.S. Hispanic channel V-me is in more than 40 markets. The network targets Latino families in Spanish with prime time drama, music, sports, current affairs and Latin cinema, as well as kids’, food, lifestyle and nature programming.
