USA Renews Hit Dramas

NEW YORK, October 11: After record-breaking performances on USA
Network this summer, Burn Notice and Psych have both received renewal orders for 16 episodes
each.

The two shows fared particularly well with the core 18-to-49
segment, with Burn Notice scoring 2.76
million viewers in that demo and Psych netting 2.24 million.

Burn Notice will
return for a third season after becoming the number one scripted series on
basic cable in adults 18 to 49, topping TNT’s The Closer.

Psych, returning for
a fourth season, delivered 5.2 million total viewers in its last outing, a
10-percent gain on last year.

Jeff Wachtel, USA’s executive VP of original programming and
the co-head of original content at Universal Cable Productions, noted: “Burn
Notice
and Psych are key components of USA’s success story. Psych has some of the best young demos the network has
ever seen and continues to surprise audiences with entertaining story lines. Burn
Notice
caught fire right out of the box and
just keeps growing. It’s one of the best shows on television. Both shows have a
huge fan base on-air and online and reflect the high quality of programming
that viewers have come to expect from USA.”
