Zee TV to Go HD in the U.S.

NEW YORK: The South Asian entertainment network Zee TV is launching a high-definition feed in the U.S. in the first quarter of the year.

The move makes Zee the first South Asian TV channel in the Americas to launch in HD. Zee currently reaches more than 500 million viewers in some 168 countries.

Suresh Bala Iyer, the CEO of Asia TV USA, said, “Once again the ZEE brand has taken on the role of a pioneer. It is a great honor for us to provide our loyal viewers their favorite programming in HD service, and also to become the first channel in the Americas to deliver high-quality South Asian entertainment in HD.”
