WWE Appoints New Executive VP of International

STAMFORD: Gerrit Meier has been hired as WWE’s executive VP of international.

In his new post, Meier will work under Vince McMahon, WWE’s chairman and CEO. He will be expected to increase the company’s brand and business outside of the U.S., with a main focus on expanding WWE’s international television distribution agreements. He will also handle the continued advancement of international licensing, live events, digital and publishing operations.

Meier has held a number of senior leadership positions at such companies as Spotify, Clear Channel and Bertelsmann. He previously served as the global general manager for distribution and partnerships at Spotify, where he helped form new partnerships with various brands, including Coca-Cola, Yahoo, Deutsche Telekom and Target.
