Walking Dead, Big Bang Theory Rank as Most Time-Shifted Shows of 2016

NEW YORK: According to Nielsen, the TV viewing audience of The Walking Dead on AMC increased by about 10.4 million viewers from the live audience with time-shifted viewing (within seven days).

The Big Bang Theory on CBS ranked second with a 9.16 million absolute difference in viewership. Designated Survivor came in at number three, followed by Game of Thrones and This Is Us in the top five.

When evaluated by the percentage increase in viewers from time-shifting, AMC’s Better Call Saul ranks first, with the viewing audience lifted by nearly 279 percent. American Horror Story was second, increasing 245.5 percent from the live audience with time-shifted viewing (within seven days). American Crime Story: People v. O.J. Simpson was third, followed by Suits and The Real Housewives of OC.

The top 10 prime-time TV programs of 2016 (regularly scheduled) according to Nielsen’s figures, were The Big Bang Theory, which averaged 19.9 million viewers who watched live or via time-shifted viewing within seven days. NCIS ranked second, with an average of 19.8 million viewers. NBC Sunday Night Football averaged 19.3 million viewers, while AMC’s The Walking Dead averaged 18.8 and CBS newcomer Bull 17.6 million.
