VICELAND Makes First Series Acquisition

BROOKLYN: The cable channel VICELAND has acquired the British comedy People Just Do Nothing from FremantleMedia International.

The series, produced by Roughcut TV, will debut on VICELAND on February 2. From executive producer Ash Atalla (The IT Crowd), the mockumentary series follows a hapless crew of social dropouts running an illegal pirate radio station in West London.

VICELAND has also added to its slate Hate Thy Neighbor, featuring British comedian Jamali Maddix. The show, an import from VICELAND UK, will debut on January 9. The doc series Rise, produced by VICE Studio Canada, in partnership with Rogers Media and APTN, will debut on January 27.

On February 2, VICELAND will debut Nirvana the Band the Show, from comedy filmmakers Matt Johnson and Jay McCarrol. It is a VICE Studio Canada and Rogers Media original production.

In addition, the network is bringing back two popular shows: Noisey and the second half of F*ck, That’s Delicious.
