Viacom Agrees to Streaming Deal with Amazon Prime

SEATTLE: TV shows from MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, TV Land, Spike and other Viacom-owned networks will be offered for streaming to Amazon Prime members through the signing of a new license agreement.

Amazon will be offering MTV shows such as The Hills, Jersey Shore and several seasons of The Real World; Comedy Central programming, including Chappelle’s Show and The Sarah Silverman Program; and the TV Land hit Hot in Cleveland. For kids, Nickelodeon’s iCarly, Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants, Yo Gabba Gabba and others will be available. The deal brings the total number of Prime Instant Videos to more than 15,000.

We are constantly working to improve the service by adding the shows that our customers enjoy the most," said Brad Beale, the director of video content acquisition for Amazon. "This deal with Viacom brings Prime customers and Kindle Fire users thousands of comedies, kids’ shows, reality TV and much more from some of the best cable networks available. We now offer more than 15,000 movies and TV shows in Prime Instant Videos and are working hard to add even more great content."
