VH1 Greenlights New Originals

LOS ANGELES: VH1 is moving forward on several new original series, including the scripted project Hindsight.

Hindsight is set for early 2015. The series is written by Emily Fox (Jane By Design) and the pilot was directed by Michael Trim (Orange Is the New Black).

Other projects getting the greenlight include I ♥ Nick Carter, which focuses on the Backstreet Boy member's relationship with his fiancée; Untitled K.Michelle Project, which follows the Love and Hip Hop star's music career; and Swab Stories, chronicling how lost family members reconnect thanks to DNA testing. There's also Walk of Shame Shuttle, about a young entrepreneur and her service for college students who overindulged the night before, and This Is Hot 97, which takes viewers behind the scenes of the iconic radio brand. In White Girls of Rap, from Ryan Seacrest Productions, a spotlight is given to female rappers who are trying to succeed in a male-dominated business.

“With these greenlights, we are delivering a diverse mix of bold, big-hearted programs that will reflect and expand on our signature mash-up of music, pop culture and nostalgia,” said Susan Levison, the executive VP of original programming and production at VH1. "From scripted, to docuseries to humor to reality, we are super-serving our audience with a wide array of cut-through programming.”
