UP Orders Pilot of Dance-Themed Docuseries

ATLANTA: UP in the U.S. has given the go-ahead to Dancin’ the Dream, its first dance docuseries pilot, and announced strong ratings for its Love Finds You franchise.

Produced by UP Entertainment in association with Crazy Legs Productions, filming on the two half-hour Dancin’ the Dream pilots is currently underway in Atlanta, with a debut set for this fall. The show will follow eight young aspiring stars as they undergo grueling dance classes to perfect their craft.

“For anyone who has ever wondered how top performers like Bruno Mars and Christina Aguilera got to where they are today, this series will help answer that question through a new generation of immensely talented, hopeful stars,” said Amy Winter, the executive VP and general manager of UP. “Dancin’ the Dream will give viewers a true sense of the effort that goes into becoming a star, the sacrifices that must be made, and relationships and bonds that grow or suffer along the way. As the leading network for compelling content for you and your family, we are proud to unveil Dancin’ the Dream as the latest example of our commitment to produce original series that move and entertain.”

Additionally, the channel has premiered the original movie Love Finds You in Charm, which set a network ratings record when it first aired June 7. Based on live + same-day data, the movie reached 2.2 million viewers P2+ during its premiere week and is UP’s highest rated debut movie year to date among women in the 18 to 49 demo and women aged 25 to 54. The franchise is sold globally by American Cinema International/Mission Pictures International.

“Viewers have fallen in love with our Love Finds You franchise, which has proven to be quite popular with viewers,” said Winter. “These highly watchable romantic dramas feature journeys of self discovery for compelling characters who oftentimes find love along the way. We look forward to sharing more of these stories with our viewers, including next year’s sweeping Love Finds You in Valentine, starring Diogo Morgado, Michaela McManus, Lindsay Wagner and Ed Asner.”
