NEW YORK: Donald Trump and Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) have settled their litigation regarding the broadcaster’s decision not to air the Miss Universe and Miss USA pageants.

Trump is the former owner of the Miss Universe Organization. Following remarks he made about Mexican immigrants, UCI, which serves Hispanic America, decided not to air the pageants on the Spanish-language network. Trump lodged a $500 million lawsuit against the broadcaster. The terms of the settlement that was reached are confidential.

Trump commented: “I have known Univision’s president and CEO, Randy Falco, for more than 20 years and I’m glad we are able to put these differences behind us.”

Falco stated: “I have known Donald Trump for many years in both a personal and professional capacity and we are pleased to settle this matter and move forward.”
