U.S. Networks to Roadblock Think It Up Fundraising Event

LOS ANGELES: The U.S. broadcast networks ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC have signed on to air a roadblock telecast fundraising event in support of Think It Up, the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF)'s new national education initiative.

The hour-long telecast will air simultaneously on ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC on September 11 at 8 p.m. from the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport. The goal of Think It Up is to start a new movement in support of the country’s students, teachers and schools, generating excitement about learning across the U.S. Kristen Bell, Stephen Colbert, Scarlett Johansson, Matthew McConaughey, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeremy Renner, Ryan Seacrest, Jessica Williams and other celebrities from TV, film, sports, music and digital media will participate in the telecast, which will feature live musical performances, comedic sketches and more. In addition, local events with students and teachers will be held across the country, showcasing inspiring stories of successful teacher-student collaborations on various projects.

Sherry Lansing, the founder of the Sherry Lansing Foundation and the chair of EIF's Board of Directors, said, "Our hope is that by creating opportunities to unlock their passions, talents and strengths, Think It Up will help students, working together with their teachers, to forge lasting connections between their learning experiences now and the futures they shape for themselves.”
