The Oscars to Stream Live on WATCH ABC

BURBANK: For the first time ever, the preshow and full awards telecast of the Academy Awards will be available to stream live for verified WATCH ABC viewers.

The WATCH ABC app allows viewers with participating TV subscriptions to watch live viewing of the network 24/7 online and on mobile devices. It also offers next-day access for on-demand content.

For this year's Oscars, the Disney/ABC Television Group also has a second-screen experience, The Oscars Backstage, which will be streamed to all viewers, regardless of whether or not they are verified, via WATCH ABC.

“We’re extremely proud of how much the Oscar Digital Experience has evolved,” said Albert Cheng, the executive VP and chief product officer for digital media at Disney/ABC Television Group. “This year, more people than ever before will have access to the backstage streams and verified WATCH ABC viewers will be able to participate in the most interactive Oscars to date, seamlessly navigating between the pre-show, telecast and The Oscars Backstage experience on their mobile devices.”
