The Hunger Games to Premiere New Year’s Day on EPIX

NEW YORK: EPIX is kicking off 2013 with the world television premiere of the box-office hit The Hunger Games on January 1.

The film has grossed $686 million around the world since its launch, grossing $408 million at the North American box office. It is currently ranked number 13 on the list of all-time highest grossing films.

The TV premiere is set for January 1 at noon and again at 8 p.m. on EPIX. An encore presentation will run on January 4 at 8 p.m. during an EPIX free preview weekend for all subscribers of affiliated partners. The January 4 broadcast will be led in by a special that features behind-the-scenes clips and making-of footage at 5 p.m.

The movie will run on the linear EPIX network as well as EPIX on demand, online at EpixHD.com and on EPIX apps.
