Susannah Grant in First-Look TV Deal with Lionsgate

The Oscar-nominated writer, producer and director Susannah Grant has signed a first-look TV deal with Lionsgate to create and produce scripted programming across streaming, cable and broadcast platforms.

Grant’s work includes the Julia Roberts box-office blockbuster Erin Brockovich, which earned Grant an Academy Award nomination, a BAFTA nomination and a WGA nomination, and Netflix’s Unbelievable, which earned a 2020 Peabody Award, a Critics Choice Award and the PEN America Award. Grant is currently executive producing the limited-series adaptation of Taffy Brodesser-Akner’s novel Fleishman is in Trouble for FX alongside Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly, who signed an overall television deal with Lionsgate earlier this year. She’s also executive producing the limited series Lessons in Chemistry for Apple TV+ with Michael Costigan and Brie Larson, who will star.

“Susannah has an incredible repertoire of award-winning content across television and film, which makes this partnership and its possibilities very exciting,” said Lionsgate Television Group Chairman Kevin Beggs. “She’s a talented creative voice and writer who can do it all, and we’re happy to welcome her to our Lionsgate family. We look forward to creating iconic, critically-acclaimed programming together for all of our platform partners.”
