REDMOND: Microsoft has unveiled the all-in-one gaming and entertainment system Xbox One, which will feature exclusive content such as an original live-action series produced by Steven Spielberg based on the Halo franchise.

The new console promises to put games, TV, movies, music, sports and Skype all together in one device. The system will allow users to watch live TV from cable, telco and satellite set-top box through the Xbox One.

In addition to a host of games coming to Xbox One, Microsoft announced some exclusive content partnerships with top names in TV, sports and entertainment. This includes the Halo TV series, executive produced by Spielberg. The show will feature interactive content, created in partnership with 343 Industries and Xbox Entertainment Studios.

Microsoft also secured a multi-year partnership with the NFL to deliver interactive football experiences. With innovations built around Skype, Xbox SmartGlass and player-worn technology, Xbox One will allow users to create a personalized sports destination.

"Xbox One is designed to deliver a whole new generation of blockbuster games, television and entertainment in a powerful, all-in-one device," said Don Mattrick, the president of interactive entertainment business at Microsoft. "Our unique, modern architecture brings simplicity to the living room and, for the first time ever, the ability to instantly switch across your games and entertainment."
