Starz in Black, Encore to Observe Black History Month

BEVERLY HILLS: To commemorate Black History Month, Starz in Black and Encore are scheduled to air a number of relevant documentaries and mini-series throughout February.

Next month Starz in Black will broadcast a pair of documentary films—every Sunday at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.—on such topics as slavery, the Jim Crow laws, the Civil Rights movement and the Black Panther Party, to name a few. The channel’s lineup will include The Road to Brown and the network premiere of February One: The Story of the Greensboro Four on February 3; At the River I Stand and Revolution ’67 on February 10; Nat Turner: A Troublesome Property and the network debut of Banished on February 17; and Scandalize My Name: Stories from the Blacklist and Dare Not Walk Alone on February 24.

Encore is set to air the following two titles for Black History Month during The Big Miniseries Showcase programming block: Sally Heming’s: An American Scandal on Sunday, February 3 at 8 p.m. and North and South on Monday, February 4 at 8 p.m.
