LOS ANGELES: Spike TV has appointed Lauren Ruggiero as the senior director of scripted development, reporting directly to Ted Gold, the senior VP of scripted original series.

Ruggiero’s new responsibilities in this role will include expanding the company’s development slate and co-managing show production. She joins Spike TV from Elice Island Entertainment, where she worked in conjunction with Spike as a co-producer of the limited event series Tut. She began her entertainment career as an agent trainee in the television literary department at William Morris Agency. From there, she went on to become a coordinator of original programming at AMC, where she worked on popular series such as Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The Killing and The Walking Dead.

“We are thrilled to have Lauren join our team,” Gold said. “She brings a wealth of experience, tremendous creative energy and instinct. I had the opportunity to work closely with Lauren on the production of Tut and I know she will be a huge asset as we continue to expand Spike’s audience.”

Spike TV is a division of Viacom Media Networks.
