Spike TV Adds Former Syfy Exec to Original Series Team

LOS ANGELES: Spike TV has hired Tori Socha, formerly the director of alternative programming at Syfy, as senior director of original series, along with promoting Jeff Savaiano to senior director of original series.

During her time at Syfy Socha developed and oversaw production on such new unscripted series as Ghost Mine and Heroes of Cosplay. Prior to Syfy, Socha developed originals for TLC as manager of development.

Savaiano joined Spike TV in 2008 and has been responsible for series development and managing show production, from pilot development through series post-production. He continues to oversee the creative and day-to-day operations of the upcoming Spike series Catch a Contractor and Frankenfood. He has also been involved with the network hits Tattoo Nightmares, Auction Hunters, Deadliest Warrior and 1000 Ways to Die.
