LOS ANGELES: Skydance TV is the brand-new television division of Skydance Productions that will be led by Marcy Ross, who previously served as the executive VP of current programming at Fox Broadcasting Company.

Skydance Productions has a partnership with Paramount Pictures that has seen it co-finance and produce several films per year with the studio, in addition to developing its own projects. Recent projects include G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation, starring Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum and Dwayne Johnson, along with True Grit, Mission: Impossible—Ghost Protocol and Jack Reacher. Upcoming projects include Star Trek into the Darkness; the Brad Pitt vehicle World War Z; and Jack Ryan, from director Kenneth Brannagh.

Ross, who will serve as president of Skydance TV, was previously with Fox Broadcasting Company, where she oversaw such shows as Glee, House, The Simpsons, New Girl and Family Guy, among others. Before Fox she was with Studios USA as the senior VP of comedy programming, and before that was the senior VP of creative affairs at The Jim Henson Company.

"During her tenure at Fox, Marcy has developed and produced some of the best shows on television that have entertained audiences around the world. We are thrilled to welcome her into the Skydance family to help pioneer our entrance into this wonderful medium of storytelling," said David Ellison, the president and CEO of Skydance Productions.

"When I met David and the Skydance team, I knew I had found the creative partner I was looking for," added Ross. "I am so impressed with the success that David, Dana Goldberg and Paul Schwake are achieving in the feature film side and I trust that once we open our doors wide to the television community, we will find the same success building a fun, nurturing place to create programming."
