Sierra/Affinity to Rep Oculus & Somnia

LOS ANGELES: The international sales for the films Oculus and Somnia are to be handled by Sierra/Affinity.

Oculus picks up ten years after an incident that killed the parents of two children. The movie, which stars Karen Gillian, Brenton Thwaites, Katee Sackhoff and Rory Cochrane, was picked up by Relativity for distribution in the U.S. next year.

Somnia is a horror film about an orphaned boy whose dreams manifest physically during his sleep. Kate Bosworth, Thomas Jane and newcomer Jacob Tremblay have signed on to join the cast of the movie, which begins production on Monday, November 11.

Both Oculus and Somnia are directed by Mike Flanagan and co-written by Flanagan and Jeff Howard.

Trevor Macy, producer for both films, remarked: "Somnia is a natural follow up to Oculus for Mike. We are thrilled that Kate and Thomas have joined us for Somnia, and look forward to Sierra presenting both titles at the AFM."

Sam Englebardt, producer for Somnia, added: "Mike Flanagan blew us away with Oculus and we're thrilled to be working with him and Trevor on Somnia. It's a huge added bonus that Sierra came on to sell the film for us."
