Showtime Inks Overall Deal with Dexter Showrunner

LOS ANGELES: Showtime has signed a two-year overall deal with Scott Buck, the showrunner and executive producer of Dexter.

Buck is currently in development on a number of projects for the premium cable channel, including supervising the script for Matthew Specktor’s novel American Dream Machine. Dexter‘s Michael C. Hall will also executive produce American Dream Machine, while Specktor writes.

"For the last seven seasons, Scott has helped shepherd Dexter, the most valuable and lucrative franchise we have ever had," said David Nevins, the president of entertainment at Showtime Networks. "We really wanted to remain in business with Scott, and we are looking forward to getting to work with him on a number of new projects. I’m incredibly excited to see what he has up his sleeve."
