LOS ANGELES: Shine America and Jack Black’s Electric Dynamite Productions are collaborating on the new online comedy series Ghost Ghirls, which will be an exclusive for Yahoo! Screen.

Black along with Jake Johnson, Molly Shannon, Jason Schwartzman and a host of other celebrities are lined up to make cameos in the show. Production is already under way on the 12-episode series, which is slated for launch in spring 2013. The show follows the antics of two young female ghostbusters who are attempting to solve the mysteries behind paranormal phenomena.

Vivi Zigler, the president of Shine 360° & Digital at Shine America, said, “Ghost Ghirls is a rare creative concept that brings together some of Hollywood’s best and established, as well as up-and-coming performers and storytellers. It’s a very funny ride and we believe Yahoo! is the perfect partner to help us garner wide exposure for this special series.”

“Our users come to Yahoo! Screen for their daily dose of comedy and we’re excited to bring them Ghost Ghirls,” added Erin McPherson, Yahoo!’s VP and head of video and originals. “This series will also have fun celebrity cameos that our users enjoyed so much in Yahoo! originals Burning Love and Sketchy.
