Sex and the City’s Darren Star Working on TV Land Comedy

NEW YORK: TV Land has fast-tracked a production to be written by Darren Star, the creator of Sex and the City.

The single-camera comedy is based on the novel Younger by Pamela Redmond Satran. It follows the story of a newly single New Jersey housewife and mother in her early 40s who decides to pass herself off as a 20something to jump start her career.

“Darren has brought to life some of the most dynamic and indelible characters on television today,” said Keith Cox, the executive VP of development and original programming at TVLand. “We are beyond excited to work with him. Between Sex and the City, Beverly Hills, 90210 and Melrose Place, he has created some of the most iconic and beloved shows in the history of television.”
