Promotions & Acquisitions for Echo Bridge

NEEDHAM: Echo Bridge Entertainment has elevated Gilda Demirtas and Susan Hewitt to VPs of international distribution, and picked up the international rights for two movies.

In their new roles, Demirtas and Hewitt will be responsible for sales in a number of new territories. Demirtas will be charged with Germany, Eastern Europe and Japan, while Hewitt is expected to handle the U.K., Benelux, Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand and pan-Asia. Both women, who currently serve as directors of sales, will work under Emilia Nuccio, the president of international distribution.

“Gilda and Susan have been integral to the development of our international team,” said Nuccio. “This promotion recognizes their achievements to date and positions them and Echo Bridge for further growth.”

In other news, Echo Bridge Entertainment has acquired the international rights for Open Road, a coming-of-age film that screened at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The production, which stars Camilla Belle, Andy Garcia and Juliette Lewis, focuses on a young Brazilian artist who is trying to escape her past. The company also recently snapped up A New York Heartbeat, a crime romance led by Eric Roberts, Escher Holloway, Rachel Brosnahan and Jack Donner.

“We are thrilled to present Open Road and A New York Heartbeat to the global market,” added Nuccio. “Our other new titles are equally as excellent and I cannot wait to present them to our clients at the upcoming MIPCOM.”
