PaleyFest Coming to New York

NEW YORK: The Paley Center for Media and the Mayor's Office of Media & Entertainment are presenting the first annual PaleyFest: Made in NY on October 2 to 6 at the Paley Center in New York.

PaleyFest: Made in NY will have panel events that include the casts and creators of Orange is the New Black, Elementary, The Americans, Small Empires with Alexis Ohanian, The Outs and Boardwalk Empire. The conversations will be streamed live globally.

There will also be different events focused on educating the public about career opportunities in the media in NYC.

“Bringing PaleyFest to New York City after 30 incredibly successful years in L.A. is a dream realized for the Paley Center and we could find no better partner than the New York City Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment to highlight the amazing breadth of media produced in the City,” said Pat Mitchell, the president and CEO of The Paley Center for Media. “The Paley Center’s mission to lead and curate the discussion about the importance of media will bring television fans unparalleled access to the hottest, most talked about shows on the air and foster a greater understanding of how these shows are created, cast, and delivered.”

“New York City has truly become a TV town in recent years with more primetime episodic series filming on our streets than ever before,” added Katherine Oliver, commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment. “Working with the Paley Center to celebrate the ‘Made in NY’ series that call New York City home is the perfect way to kick off a season of new dramas and comedies and highlight the thousands of New Yorkers who make their living working in the local film and television industry.”
