OWN Commits to Another Tyler Perry Series

LOS ANGELES: OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) is adding to its scripted programming lineup with the acquisition of For Better or Worse, a comedy from Tyler Perry.

A third season of new episodes will premiere in the fall on OWN, which also opted for two other scripted series from Perry. In addition, the network has secured the encore rights for the first two seasons of the show’s 45 episodes, first broadcast by TBS.

For Better or Worse focuses on three couples that are in different stages of their relationships. The cast is led by Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, Crystle Stewart, Kent Faulcon, Kiki Haynes and Jason Olive. Production on new episodes will commence in Atlanta in April.

"For Better or Worse is a great addition to our growing lineup of scripted programming from Tyler," said Erik Logan, the president of OWN. "We’re excited to build out OWN’s slate of original shows."
