SANTA MONICA: Ovation has hired Scott Woodward, a seasoned programming executive, as its new senior VP of programming and production.

Woodward will report to Charles Segars, the CEO of Ovation. He will supervise all aspects of the network's multiplatform content, including scheduling and program planning, acquisitions, co-productions, development, original programming, on-air promotions, VOD and digital operations. He will also manage Ovation Studios, the company's recently launched in-house multiplatform production arm, which has produced such titles as The Art Of, Culture Pop and Broadway Bash.

Before his appointment, Woodward was the VP of programming and production at TVGN, where he led the network's re-launch nearly a decade ago. Earlier, he was an executive producer at E! Entertainment Television for domestic, international and online series and specials. He also founded his own production company, Scott Woodward Productions, where he produced and distributed electronic press kits (EPKs) for Columbia Pictures, Universal, Paramount, Disney and DeLaurentis Entertainment.

"Scott has a proven track record for developing, producing and programming highly rated original content, which is this network’s top priority," said Segars. "He possesses the much-sought-after combination of creative and strategic thinking that will work well for our arts-focused network. We are delighted to have him join us at this exciting stage in our evolution."
