LOS ANGELES: NFL Media has hired Emmy winner Michael Mandt as the company’s executive producer of original content, effective immediately.

In this newly created role, Mandt will work out of Los Angeles under Mark Quenzel, NFL Media’s senior VP of production and programming. He is charged with developing new original content for all NFL-owned and operated media platforms, including NFL Network, NFL Now, NFL Mobile from Verizon and NFL.com. He will also oversee current original programming for NFL Network, such as A Football Life, The Timeline and Undrafted.

For the past 14 years, Mandt has been leading a production company, Mandt Bros. Productions, with his brother Neil. He and Neil have produced shows for such channels as Showtime, E! and Food Network, as well as digital, branded, mobile and virtual reality content. Earlier in his career, Mandt worked for ESPN, MLB Productions and HBO Sports.

“The NFL has some of the most popular and valuable content, not only in the world of sports but across the entertainment industry as a whole so I’m incredibly excited about joining NFL Media to work with, and continue to grow the brand in new and different ways,” said Mandt.
