NFL Appoints First SVP & Chief Content Officer

LOS ANGELES: Seasoned media exec, producer and entrepreneur Jordan Levin has been hired as the NFL's senior VP and chief content officer, a newly created position that is effective immediately.

Levin is charged with developing and executing an innovative, league-wide content plan that will support the long-term growth goals of the organization across all of its owned-and-operated media assets, which include NFL Network, NFL Digital Media and NFL Films, as well as external media partnerships, networks and platforms. He will concentrate on the development, production, programming and distribution of high-quality video content aligned with the NFL brand and mission. Levin will also have oversight of current NFL event programming franchises, including the Super Bowl Halftime Show and NFL Honors, developing new franchises, and licensing and expanding the NFL Films library. He will work out of NFL Media's Los Angeles offices and studios under Brian Rolapp, the NFL's executive VP of media.

Previously, Levin worked for Microsoft as executive VP and general manager of Xbox Entertainment Studios. Earlier in his career, he founded Generate, a studio and talent management company that was acquired by Alloy Digital in 2012 and later merged with Break Media to form DEFY Media. He also worked for The WB as part of its founding executive team, eventually becoming sole president of entertainment in 2001 and the youngest CEO in broadcast TV history two years later. Before that, he was a member of the creative team that revitalized the Disney television division.

"With deep experience developing award-winning television programming combined with a keen understanding of the digital media landscape as both an executive and producer, I'm excited to have someone of Jordan's unique background and talents join the NFL," noted Rolapp. "Jordan will be a great addition to an already strong executive team at NFL Media and help us produce first-class content we can deliver to NFL fans around the world across all platforms."

"I'm both honored and humbled to be joining the NFL Media team to help them realize their bold strategic vision of delivering NFL fans unique and distinctive content experiences in a personalized manner across all screens, channels and media platforms worldwide," added Levin. "I look forward to working closely with both the NFL's own media properties and external partnerships to create additional value for the league and most importantly, serving its current and future fans."
