LOS ANGELES: Showtime Networks has appointed Robin Gurney as senior VP of original programming, joining the company after having been with Imagine Television for the last seven years.

Gurney will work on the development and creative oversight of Showtime original series. She will report to Gary Levine, the executive VP of original programming. Prior to Showtime, Gurney was the senior executive VP of development and production for Imagine Television. There, she worked on such series as Friday Night Lights, Lie to Me and ABC’s new fall comedy How to Live with Your Parents for the Rest of Your Life.

The new role also sees her reuniting with David Nevins, the president of entertainment at Showtime Networks. The pair had worked together for five years at Imagine, when Nevins was president of the company.

"Robin is a great get for us," said Levine. "Her passion, her talent, her instincts and her experience make her a magnet for great writing and a perfect addition to the outstanding creative executives that I am so grateful to work with here at Showtime."

"Robin and I had a great, creative working relationship for five years at Imagine," commented Nevins. "I am so thrilled to finally have an opportunity to work together here at Showtime."
