LOS ANGELES: Chris Culvenor is transitioning from Shine Australia to Shine America, where he has been named senior VP of development.

Based in Los Angeles, Culvenor will be overseeing the day-to-day unscripted development. He comes from Shine Australia, where he has overseen the development and sale of programs across a range of genres.

Culvenor is supported in his new role by new hire Christie McConnell, who has been brought on as VP of development. McConnell joins from Stephen David Entertainment, where she has been the VP of development since 2010.

"Chris is an outstanding creative executive with a track record for developing major unscripted formats," said Carl Fennessy, Shine America’s CEO. "His experience and expertise in unscripted television make him the perfect person to lead Shine America’s development team."

Eden Gaha, Shine America’s president and to whom Culvenor will report, stated, "Having worked closely with Chris over the last year, it’s great to now have one of Shine’s best here in the U.S."

On the addition of McConnell, Gaha added, "Christie is a rising star in the unscripted development world and we are thrilled to have secured her talents as part of the Shine America team."
