LOS ANGELES: New Regency Productions plans to produce a TV show inspired by Kesem Al Yam Kineret, a novel penned by Israeli author Yoram Kanuik.

Published in 1994, Kesem Al Yam Kineret is about a young woman who decides to add more adventure to her life.

New Regency Productions is going to adapt the book into a single-camera, 30-minute satirical black comedy for American viewers.

"The opportunity to develop shows from IP that provide this type of unique spin and distinct voice is exactly why we are in business with ADD," said Andrew Plotkin, New Regency’s executive VP of television. "With the recent success in the industry of adapting Israeli content for American audiences, most notably Showtime’s Homeland, we are looking forward to adapting Kanuik’s unique vision for American television."
